There are many rumors about the PS3, we hope to clear some of it up for you. This being one of our first articles, we have attempted to answer a few questions you may have below.
1) How much will the Play Station 3 Cost?
Well, no one really knows yet. There has been no confirmation from Sony officials on retail prices as of yet, however when looking at the cost of previous versions (PSone and PS2). They have both come out on the market at a retail price between $300 and $350 US. Because of the extra features such as an RJ45 LAN connection and an HDMI interface, the cost will likely be a bit higher then the first two upon release
2) Is PS3 going to be able to be able to play online?
Absolutely! Sony is launching a service similar to X-box's Live. Players will be able to connect to game servers and play against anyone else connected. Will this be a subscription based service? Probably. Were not sure yet!
3) Is PS3 Backwards Compatible?
Yes! Play station 3 will be backwards compatible with all PSOne and PS2 games.
4) When is the expected release date for PS3?
This is one rumor which has been hard to nail down. A PS3 Demo game stated the launch date is in the spring time of 2006. However there have been words from Sony that it could launch as early as March 2006 and other rumors state May 15, 2006. Believe what you want, were going to wait for the official release date before putting out money anywhere.
