hello everyone,
i just recently bought a ps3:) . i hooked it up with a hdmi cable and did a system update. i started playing ultimate alliance and then about 25-30 minutes into gameplay the system shuts off on me. i then reset the system and the fan came on real loud then the light went red. does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix before i take it back to bestbuy?

O.o you might have a dud... wow that sucks... you didn't have it in a tight space or in an enclosed area like a media cabinet did you?
i did put it in a cabinet at first but after five minutes i took it out when i realized how hot it was. i then had it vertically standing next to my 32 inch lcd tv. so i dont know if that might have affected it. the system doesnt even come on anymore. sony blows and so does its products!!!!

i would say that sony blows at making products on a tight deadline. when they need more time to fix the bugs, but they made a kick ass system that worth the money

Also remember how bad the 360 launch was?! THAT was SO much worse then the PS3s is. Just go exchange it and you should be fine :)

yeah when the 360 first came out there were fires and stuff. also just to tell you if you have a 360 dont have it standing up because it can cause laser burn.

ya my friend was tellin me that if your usin the 360 and it falls over when its on then you will here this loud noise and its somthing scratching the disc inside and making a big circular scratch so you really got to be carefull lol

ha yeah. If you have a 360 on its side and then tilt it up it does the same thing because the disc is like a gyroscope and wants to stay in the direction it was to begin with so then it puts pressure on it in places pressure isn't supposed to be put ;)
