Weve all talked about the best final fantasy and most say its VII, BUT WHAT IS THE WORST? I would personally say final fantasy X-2 since the plot sucks and is babyish. the gameplay is good though.

I cant stand Final Fantasy. I was never into the fantasy style game, and not once have I even thought about buying one. I have played one or two of them in the past, but ive never really had that much desire to play them.

You really have to be in to that turn based rpg style o enjoy them but a major reason people play them is because theyre like really long movies.

I have yet to see the Final Fantasy movie that came out not to long ago either. I dont know what it is, but RPG's just dont interest me. They seem to be lacking and excitement.

I dont like the turn based onces much, But I like the mmorpg style.

I really didnt like final fantasy X-2. X was great but this one was really disapointing.

At first I rolled with the extra punches that knocked holes in the swiss cheese, then my 14-year old sister opened my eyes up to how bad X-2 really was. Eventually, I gave it away to somebody for free. I didn't want it to grace the store shelves anymore. Talk about company mergings gone wrong. That blasted Enix. I bet it was their idea to incorporate that mission-based, pop-fluff crap. Though I really enjoyed hearing the theme for some reason. *scratches his head* What can I say? It was catchy in weird way.

I've palyed X-2 at a friends house befor but it wasn't really that great at all so yea i agree with u guys

x-2 prolly sucked because of the lead female roles...im not sexist but cmon...all the other games have been predominantly male orriented...

hahah each individual FF is almost entirely different, with the exception of X-2 which is the sequel of FFX....but honestly, dont waste ur time with X-2, my suggestion would be to start with FF7, thats always a classic game

I haven't played enough Final Fantasys to really comment on this but, out of the ones I have played, I'd have to say Final Fantasy VIII.

I would say Final Fantasy X-2, short and uninspiring.

haha those games were mostly played for the story and gameplay...i guess as more revolutionary graphics come out into the markey...those elements kinda get lost or at least obsolete

hahah ff9 was kinda strange...kinda an interesting transition from ff8 (which was phenominal)....but 9 was fun...characters were memorable (quina)....storyline was good....i actually laughed out loud at some scenes and at the ending surprised me...lol it was an interesting game

I love all Final Fantasy games! I have V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, Tactics Advanced, and the first one for the N.E.S. I didn't like Tactics Advanced but it did have a good story line. :D

uhh well im playing ff2 on the gba right now and its pretty bad, but i do like the system of letting characters level up their own weapons to do more damage and stuff

Sorry, I wasn't counting X-2 in the series, but if we're talking EVERY Final Fantasy game...then I would choose that one.

And yes, I do LOVE Final Fantasy games...and I'll stand by VIII as my second worst, but I still love it.

If we're talking EVERY game that bears the Final Fantasy name, then it actually has to be Final Fantasy Adventure (or whatever it was called) - it was for Super NES and had NOTHING to do with final fantasy games and it was real time battle

I agree Final Fantasy 10 X-2 was pretty crap...
But to be honest, I didn't like FF7 either..
To me, the plot seemed way to much like "Okay, give this guy a big ass sword, make him impossible to kill, and have him fight a guy with a long ass sword who is pretty much impossible to kill"

umm...without 7...8 and anything subsequent wouldnt have been born...it was the pioneer and frontrunner...lol oh well i know alotta people who din like it

Lol do you really think that if FF7 was a flop they woulda stopped making the series? If you havent noticed, game developers struggle to come up with new ideas. Thats why theres so many sequels and knockoffs. Your right though, FF7 paved the way for all the subsequent sequels, but those sequels woulda come out whether FF7 was good or not. And besides, I didnt say it was bad. In fact I enjoyed playing it very much. I just think that it wasnt as good as most of the other FF games.

Yeah I made the mistake of playing FF7 AFTER I saw what FFX and X2 was like so it kinda put me off.

yeah thats a big problem...i mean ffx was incredible...so ff7 seems somewhat lackluster after....i suppose im so biased towards 7 is cuz it was my first one to play....regarding what negasie said i guess i agree with you because inevitably assuming 7 wasnt as successful as it was...there would have been something developed later that would have pushed the series ahead (however my point is that without 7...or at least without the success behind it...developers wouldnt have put as much time into 8 or 9 or.... to make them as great as they were)

I played FF2 first, and about 30 more times through before FF7 came out. And I loved FF7 until I got out of Midgar. Theres nothing in particular that I didnt like about it, just alot of smaller things I think. All the flashbacks where you'd play through a memory, and then find out that it wasnt your memory at all, and then somehow no one actually remembers what happened until later on. The whole Casino in the desert, and Cait Sith's character being a robot, two robots actually if you count the cat and the giant marshmallow separately. And Red XIII really pissed me off when you find out his real name is Nanaki or something, and they dont let you change his name. I guess that's nothing but it really pissed me off, lol.

But so far, the only game in the series that I actually felt a challenge to beat was FF2. The rest you could run from half the monsters and still get enough experience to beat the game.

FF8 hooked me cus of Triple Triad. It took me so freaking long to complete my whole deck. I curse whomever thought up same/plus/samewall/random all in one match! Not everyone knows this, but if you convert your rare cards into their respective items, and then track down the cardmaster on disc 4, you can win them all back again from her. So you can make all your uber weapons and stuff without camping the rare drops for days and days, and still be able to complete your deck. I doubt anyones that obsessed besides me though. :)

lol wow...thats pretty intense...iv never played 2 but u said it was hard so ill definitely look forward to the challenge

I wouldnt go as far as to say its hard, but its the most challenging, You'll see what I mean when you get to Rubicant ;)

I also think it had the best story, and the best ending. If you don't get all of Rydia's summons, and Rosa's spells, you wont stand a chance against the last boss. But good luck and enjoy!

lol aww i was hoping you had started. Theres only one place youll prolly get stuck at. Some of the bosses seem hard the first time, like the Antlion, but if they are you arent leveled enough. Talk to me when you cant figure out the way into the underground.......or back out of it for that matter :)
