Does the PS3 come with HD capabilities, or is it sold seperately? I got a new HD TV recently, and I want to check out what HD games look like.

the PS3 is totaly HD Capable. There are outputs on the back of the console which alow up to 2 HDTV's to be connected at the same time.

I've heard that the HD's for the system will be 2.5" drives like laptop HD's. So they might not be to the PS3 what the HD was to the Xbox. 2.5" drives are typically slower and don't hold as much without upping the cost a bit. However the PS3 does have like 6 USB 2.0 ports and 3 ethernet connections so maybe it'll have the ability to utilize these for external HD's...without being modded??

Hmm with the PS3's decked out HD support, it almost makes me want to get a HD TV...but I just don't foresee having money like that for quite a while :(.

i have a question about how this actually works with the hd. i know my dad has hd tv with his satellite but u have to pay monthly for the hd capability. is that the same with the ps3? will u have to pay monthly charge to have ps3 in hd? i know they said that it will have hd hookups, does that mean u just hook it up to an hd capable tv and automatically u have hd ps3?

No, you wont have to pay for HD with the PS3. Just as long as you have a HD TV and a HD input(PS3) you can play till your hearts content.

Can the ps3 get the hd quality on a 1080i tv or does it have to be 720p and 1080p.

ooops :p I'm a computer tech so I get used to seeing HD as Hard Drive :rolleyes:

youll only get the high hd if you get the 600 dollar model so . i dont have an hdtv so it doesnt matter to me.
