can you copy movies on to the ps3 like you can import cd's on it....like i know you can download off the internet but is that the only way or could you copy one on to your ps3 from a flash drive or something ?

well maybe, i thought if you download linux you can download programs that you want like limewire, might be wrong though.

From a flash drive probably if you have an OS installed, if your thinking you can pop in a DVD and copy it to the HD that wont work though, most dvds have copyright protection written in.

Linux is hard to install i dont even think i could.
On a scale of 1-10(from people who have installed it) how hard is it?

i honestly still dont really know what linux is but if you tell me how to install i will for sure then try the movie thing then get back to you :D

Linux is an alternative operating system to Windows for PCs. Im somewhat familiar with it but not really. My dad and brother have it on their computers so i used it a little bit while growing up but never got around to installing it myself. I havent yet tried to install it on my PS3 yet, I havent found the need yet but ive been planning on it eventually

Yeah you can, I have over 25 full movies on my PS3 =) You need to get this program called Magic DVD Ripper and it bypasses the DVDs protection and converts it into a MP4 file AND you can make a custom resolution to fit your needs. Then just put the file on a thumb drive (at least 1GB one) in a folder called "videos" and stick it into the PS3 and copy it.
