Is online for the PS2 good or not? I know it's not as good as Xbox Live, but is it still usable with a good amount of players on 24/7?

Yeah, I used to play online a lot. The large problem seemed to be cheaters, and a lack of players (at least back in the day). I have SOCOM and that's probably the best online game for PS2, but I'd try to get one of the more recent ones...I haven't played them, but I'd be willing to bet there's a lot less cheating (which is rampant in SOCOM 1).

I didnt play socom much online because I always got completely owned and I got tired of it lol. I have tried the latest one though wich I hear is better than the others online.
I have played call of duty online.
I played Killzone, wich was somewhat ok but I really got mad with it because the battles get very one-sided and there is rampent camping.
Area 51, is pretty fun for a while, but ownage is frequent
Ratchet and Clank, wich kinda sucks, all it is is just jumping around and getting luckey with who you shoot. Way to easy to die.
And Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, wich is very much and acguired taste and is only fun if you can find people to team up with and play.
Battlefront 2, If you like the game and if your okay at it then youll have fairly good fun playing it online.
I only own 4 of those and I dont play on them very much, there isnt much to playstation online but It can still be fun and there is always at least a few people, usually more, online.

I hated PS2 online, because every sports title I tried to play gave me lag. Only game I really got into online was Killzone. It was awesome.

whne i played SSX it was so ausome! or maybe that was the sensation of 1`st playing online? hmm maybe

i tryed to play ssx3 online and it wont accept my log on name and pass. even thogh ive made several

also you have to have freinds playing at teh time because the other players usualy remove you from there games:mad:

sorry i know this is a really old thread but i wasnt around when it was made.I still love ps2 online iv been playing it for the past week right now because my ps3 is messed up with ps3 game ( im playing ps2 online on my ps3 ) my favorite games are jak x combat raceing, splinter cell:chaos theory,urban chaos:riot response and last but certainly not least battlefeild 2: modern combat. Again sorry for bringing this thread back up but i really love ps2 online and i still play if anybody wants to play with me :)
