If the PS3 came out at 600+ would you still buy it? Personally I dont think I would, thats just too much money. I have to put school and eating first.

If it were over $600, I would most likely still purchase it though. I have a site to run! How could I run a PS3 site without even owning one! I have a site to run! How could I run a PS3 site without even owning one! I really doubt that it will be that cheap. If the cheapest Blu Ray player will be $1000 I see no possible way of Sony selling the PS3 at half the price of only one component of the PS3. Unless of course they want to take a HUGE loss per console. To quote Ken Kutaragi, head of Sony Inc. "The PS3 is not a game machine. We've never once called it a game machine. I'm not going to reveal the PS3's price today. I'm going to only say that it'll be expensive. I'm aware that with all these technologies, the PS3 can't be offered at a price that's targeted towards households." http://ps3.ign.com/articles/695/695789p1.html I really doubt it will be anywhere under $600. Brainwashed 03-19-2006, 05:57 PM I'm foreseeing around $500 too. But I'm not sure if I'd go for it if it did exceed $600. I just couldn't afford that much...I mean, you've got to consider all the games and accessories I'd want with it...that'd get incredibly pricy very quickly. reticulator 03-19-2006, 08:32 PM Yes at 600-700 I would still buy it. I have 400 dollars saved up for it and it will ccome out after my b-day so I will be able to afford it. If I win this raffle that would be so sweet though. Id actually still buy a ps2 If i won the raffle but Id sell the raffle one for over the market price after the ps3 sells out of stores and make alot of dough. curlfro 03-20-2006, 02:34 PM The PS3 will NOT be $600. My guess would be at the most $499. Least, I'd say $399. AA7 03-20-2006, 02:45 PM The PS3 will NOT be $600. My guess would be at the most $499. Least, I'd say $399. What do you base that on? All evedince avalible says otherwise. Brainwashed 03-21-2006, 07:05 AM I would have to say that curlfro is probably right. Sony has to stay competitive with MS. Besides, it does not cost $900 to manufacture a PS3, despite what poorly added Merryl Lynch figures say. Philament 03-21-2006, 09:05 AM I'm going to say we'll see it at the most for about $549.99. That's if they want a chance to save a little on their loses and still be able to compete with Microsoft. I could see $600 as well, but if they do that, then I definitely better get another job while I'm ahead of the game. curlfro 03-23-2006, 06:44 PM What do you base that on? All evedince avalible says otherwise. because, Sony isn't stupid. they know (and you know too) that if they sell a console for too much money, they cut off a huge chunk of the market. the casual gamer. there aren't enough hard-core sony fans in the world to make the PS3 succesful if it sells for more than $499. also, if you ask almost every proffesional who deals with video games frequently, they more often than not say that they believe the PS3 will not sell for more than $499 and still be succesful. so, maybe i should refrase my answer: The PS3 will not sell for more than $499 and still be succesful. There, is that better? AA7 03-24-2006, 01:11 PM Belive me, I dont want the PS3 to cost that much either, but as it stands apart from speculation and hopes of Sony fans like me and you everything points to a very pricy PS3. Does that convince all of you that it will be expensive. Here is the link. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/695/695789p1.html bchambers05 03-24-2006, 01:54 PM i wouldnt buy it for that much, if its that or above i guess too bad for me lol. no way am i spending 600 on a ps3. Id buy the 360. AA7 03-27-2006, 06:14 AM So far the 360 is amazing. If Sony overprices they will lose the war. Justinian 04-02-2006, 11:23 AM So far the 360 is amazing.
