im hoping someone can help me. here goes- im having a problem connecting it through a ethernet cable. i bought one and plugged it in to a ethernet port on the back of he PC. at first i couldn't get the IP address but i put it in manualy and it worked. now i 'internet connection' fails and i can't figure it out for the life of me. Why,oh,why can you not put the IP address in a seperate place. you have to put it in the same place as the 'default gateway' and stuff like that. whats going on???:confused: :confused: :( :(

why not just go to network setting, then go to internet connection settings, And check Under Address settings "EASY" And make sure your CAT5 cable is plugged into the back of your modem

Wait, you have a router right? Or you can plug it into the back of the modem...
