Sorry I don't have an article to back this up, but I gotta blow off some steam.

I was watching the news the other day, and I heard something that really pissed me off. At a funeral for a child who had recently died, a protest formed outside, and it was because they DIDN"T BELIEVE IN GAY MARRIAGE!!!
The only reason they were there was because they wanted to get media attencion about there cause. They didn't care at all for the family and friends of the young girl. The only reason the protest broke up was because a gang of motercycle guys stormed in and chased them away. They said that they were fed up with them protesting about some random problem they have outside of a funeral for a little girl.

Is anyone else as pissed off as me about this? I mean, what the hell's wrong with america these days when people care if the same sex get married more than the death of a young girl!

I have alot of words that I would like to say to try to convey my emotions about this, unfortunatly nearly all of them would get me banned from this site. People are so stupid. It really pisses me off when people are so inconsiderate of the lives and feelings of others.

The only thing that pisses me off more (well, maybe not more, but still pissed me off) was that they showed this story after showing a story about March Madness. And the story was only about a minute long, while March Madness lasted at least five. This is one of the reasons I don't often watch the news. They care more about ratings than telling people about important information. The only thing worse is those little bars on the bottom of the screen that tell a story in a sentance or two. They will be talking about something like "How can you lower Credit Card bills?" and on the bottom of the screen it will say something like " Three children were violently murdered today, and the suspect is still on the loose." Now, in your opinion, which is more important?

I hate that to. It demeans the death and murder of innocent children to nothing more than a tidbit of news on the screen.

That's why I don't get my news from the TV, for the most part. They pick out the sensationalist stories for you, telling you what they want you to hear. I'd rather read up on the internet or something, and have access to more information, without it being filtered and hand picked for me.

I agree, with the internet I chose what I want to see news wise. Not what the government wants me to see.

but the downside is that you can say anything on the internet, and it's not always true. with news, at least you know the information is accurate, even if it is filtered and nothing but common interest stories.

This is true, but as long as you're selective about your sources, you don't really have that problem. If I go to cnn.com, I'll get to read what they're showing on their channel, in addition to a lot of other stuff. Just gotta remember to get your news from legit sources, not forums and blogs. Heh.

i just figure that if it's important enough for me to know, i should be told through more sources than just the internet or news.

exactly my point. i would rather know about what is happening in other parts of the world and the cruel injustices there, not about things like "How kitchen aplienses can save you from a flood"

I agree, that's a horrible story. I really can't believe the nerve of some of the American people these days.. I know we have freedom of speech and all of that good stuff, but there's sometimes when it's just best not to exercise it. As far as the news goes?

I get my news from a lot of different places. Internet, Television, USA Today.. Just to name the most common.

But hey.. All news is corrupt in some type or form. Think about it. What good do they show you about the Iraqi War? No good at all, it's all the bad news that's coming back to the USA.. Soldiers dying and what not. I guess the keep forgetting a lot of those people volunteered to go. My cousin volunteered the day after the war started and he still doesn't regret it. He's taken 2 trips to Afghanistan.. As a matter of fact, he's there now, he's coming home in July. I just think a load of what's going on in the news is a bunch of bull. We're doing a lot of good but violence sells. So that's what it all equals too..
