Long story short. ATI and Nvidia have some bitter rivalry which stems from the competitive graphics card market. ATI and Nvidia are also in the next-generation market.

ATI is providing GPUs for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Revolution. Nvidia is providing graphics support for the Sony PlayStation 3.

Now comes the European Developers Relations Manager for ATI, Richard Huddy, which has outraged some video gamers by some of the comments he made about Nvidia and the Sony PlayStation 3.

Richard Huddy said that he went to Nvidia very late in the development cycle and said that Nvidia modified a 7800GTX version for the Sony PS3. He said that although it is a pretty powerful piece of hardware, it's not elegant enough to match the Microsoft Xbox 360 technology, which uses ATI.

Mr. Huddy also went on to say that the Xbox 360 will outperform the PlayStation 3 technology by a pretty healthy margin in the long run. Well, don't expect Mr. Huddy to say anything good about the Sony PS3, since it is the frightening competitor that he's talking about. You know, the new upcoming Sony PS3.

It just seems as if Mr. Huddy from ATI and the Microsoft tech relations are still embarrassed of Japan sales. Even the original Xbox did better in Japan sales than the new super-duper Xbox 360 machine that

claims to be more elegant while serving a TV dinner, all at the same time.

Why was Japan important? Oh, wait. Why all this talk about Japan? It's Sony-land. Sales in Japan seem to have a market trend on how things will go in the "long-run". For example, the sales of Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS pretty much tailored how the market would react globally.

So why didn't anyone ask Mr. Huddy why ATI and the Xbox 360 only sold 44,000 units in Japan? Oh nevermind. You know what he'd probably say, "That's Japan though! We're not talking about Japan!" but they sure were talking about Japan all year about the Xbox 360 Japan market. Wow, what's that noise? Oh, it's just the disappointment from the Japan sales. That got loud and then suddenly quiet.

I'll always be a diehard nVidia fan anyway, ATI's gotta blow as much smoke as possible cause they know they've been trailing nV since they began in the PC market. nVidia invents and releases original technology and ATI copies and renames lol kinda like nV's SLi.. not a very outgoing technology but.. a good while later ATI releases crossfire (same crap, different name)...but who has the most manufacturer's support  the lil n :D

may nVidia live long and dominate!
