We all know this game has been released for some time, but for those of us who have never played it anywhere else and have just recently recieved the Beta, well, Feburary being recently, have been playing it on the x360. In your opinion, is this game Hot? Or does it Flop? I like it but I have a feeling my thoughts will change once I get a grip on Oblivion..

So SO SOOSOOSO much better for the 360. Played it on PC, hated it. Played it on PS2, hated it. Played it on 360 LOVED IT.

I betaed it (along with the HDD) on the PS2. It was really enjoyable at the time, but I eventually realized that MMORPGs were simply not meant to be on consoles. It just doesn't work. A year or so later, I ended up getting World of Warcraft, which, IMO, completely blows FFXI away.

I went through the whole FFXI phase. At first I was really excited about how much gameplay this game gives. The neverending story, all of the quests, and party opportunities really caught my eye.

However after going through the trouble of setting the game up and all I came to realize that I hated almost everything about it and I play almost nothing BUT RPGs. The lack of character customization drove me up the wall first, then the fact that almost no one talks to you if you're new, and the fact that quests give you little to NO hints about anything, just sends you on a random scavenger hunt really irked me.

There are some things I can get over, but the slow dulling pace of the battles are what pushed me over the edge.

Anyways, the game can't make it anymore at least that's what I think. It's been going for 4 or so years. People play that game so much until they -CAN'T- quit because of all the time and money dedicated to it. To this very day I still have a friend that begs me all the time to play the game. Just for the sheer sake of having a constant party because parties are a bother to find. I like partying, but I want to be able to just go off and do whatever on my own.

I think this game'll flop just because it has the Final Fantasy name doesn't make it remarkable. Bleh. :(

I feel the same way you do about the game, but for some reason or another I have the urge to play it every now and then.
