...just thought I'd cast this one out there and see who bites...

I reallly like Rick Barrett's works (excellent bladesmith)

...my favorite katana that he makes is the Hybrid Mune (http://www.barrettcustomknives.com/katana_1), I want one!

Im not hardcore into them but I have looked around a bit and have seen some very cool ones. The Lord Of The Rings swords are so cool. I love the Aragorn replica sword, it looks exactly like the one he used in the movie.

That is so cool! I would love to have one but I think that $3,300 is a bit too much. By a bit too much I mean there is no way I could EVER afford that. Ever. Not if I want to eat.

thats cool, i wouldnt mind having a miniature katana too :)

ya AA7, I hear ya, the real deal katanas are really expensive, and those are amerian smiths making blades for around $3000. The traditionally made katanas by japanese smiths usually start at $8000 to $10000! I'll never own one of those lol. I do have a katana but its a Last Lengend (http://lastlegend.com/). Last Legend is alright, and is a folded blade, but I think much of the process is done by machine presses instead of hammered by hand. I do plan to own a Rick Barrett blade someday :D

I dont know if they are still making 'em now but mine is the MkIV, can prolly still find 'em on the sword distributor sites tho. I paid around $600 for mine, which sounds crazy at first but then...well you can see what the handmade sorts go for, so its not that bad a price if ya really ...need one :D and they come pretty freakin sharp too, I've touched mine up tho so it'll sail through most stuff that's applicable to cutting with a katana anyway. Also, this (http://www.bugei.com/) site is cool, they have very good blades as well.

BTW, you guys should never get one of those QVC or any really cheap katanas, unless solely for display purposes, because they use stainless steel which is very hard and brittle, else this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVa0Z0eGRlk) jack@$$ could be you :(

...and speaking of QVC, oh how I love thee, here are some more classic moments from this tribute to a capitalistic society. enjoy!

QVC : Dell PC's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dyS8LJmcGI)

QVC : The amazing telescopic ladder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtZpq3UoF-M)
