Just as we predicted, the Playstation 3 is going to cost a big buck. But today some words come out of Sony for the first time in a couple of months:

George Fornay, president of Sony Computer Entertainment France and vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, in a radio interview with Générations Europe 1 seemed to have slipped out a price range for the PS3: €499 to €599! This is roughly somewhere between $613 and $736 in USD.

Looks like im not geting a PS3. Crap. Im now offically depressed. This is such bad news. I have a feeling that 360 is going to win this round based on price alone.

It sold something aroudn 5 million (i believe) units, compared to the ps2 (30 mill. this number i'm sure of)

Don't get too worried guys. This is news that I'm not even sure of, I just found it on a gaming site. Price can still change and it might.

The best bet I'm going with is $600. Chances are I won't get a PS3 unless I get a job anyway, so I'm not too worried.

meh, dont become too discouraged with this, I'm not relying on any pricing info whether projected or supposedly "authorized" until I see the system on the retailers' shelves. Too much talk about how high the prices could be WILL drive the actual prices up to meet the conceptual expectations of the consumers. Sony can probably throw together a PS3 for about $250-$300, maybe less.

i have hardly any money at all. it's taken me 6 months just to save up $100. in my house, i'm more likely to see a lephrican riding a unicorn through my living room than see any money.

All I can say is that you should start saving nowfor a 360, wait a while then pick one up. There is a planed price drop for the 360 around the time the PS3 comes out so that will make it even cheaper. Seriously its an amazing system that I know you would be much more than happy with. The PS3 is going to be much too expensive for most normal people like us to afford.

If you start saving up now you can buy both a 360 and a PS3. Then you could have the best of both worlds!

You could play all of the best games from both consoles of course! You could play MGS4 on the PS3 then go over to your 360 and play Knights Of The Old Rebublic 3 and Oblivion on you 360.

well if that is/was true (i'm not saying it is or isn't) we know it's not gonna be liek 663.74 $$ or something...... if it's in that range it will be 699.99
