In response to Captain_Canada's post regarding the launch date (ensuring its not delayed) I've decided to give this break down on my thought process.
Research and Development Completion - Dec 01, 07
This is the first step in designing the new site, and the date I want to have everything planned out by. Currently both Curlfro and I are working as hard as can be on the layout, features, modules and components of the site. The hopes are this will be completed by December 10th. Luckily for me I have a week off of work from November 24 through December 2nd. I will be dedicating most of my time during this week to the development of the new design.Bug Corrections - December 05, 07
As with every project, there are bound to be bugs. Nothing can be done to prevent this other then working them out as the come along and extreme beta testing (No were not accepting beta tester applications! Nice try though!). Curlfro and I will be clicking every link available, using every feature, and pounding away at the new design to ensure everything works properlyContent Buildup - December 30, 07
Everything outside of the forums needs to be ported over to the new database. Believe me when I say this is a huge job. Even more so then bug corrections. This portion of the site's design involves countless hours of typing, copy'n Pasting, and online research. It all has to be uploaded to the site and published to the site. All of this should be completed no later then December 30th.Finishing Touches - January 8, 07
Last minute corrections, updates, recent content updates, last minute discussions between the developers, curlfro and I, as well as any omissions / admissions to the design.Last Minute "Stuff Happens" - January 9, 07
Yes - Stuff happens. This is the final dry run which will correct any issues we may have. Hopefully by this date we wont be running into anything that needs correcting.LAUNCHDATE! - January 10, 08
The site goes Live! - The launch time - 8 PM Hrs Mountain Standard Time. What it this in your time zone?
7 PM Pacific standard Time
8 PM Mountain Standard Time
9 PM Central Standard Time
10 PM Eastern Standard TimeSo that's how I plan on things going. Hopefully this gives you a better view of how were doing things.
