That being said, Robbie Bach, President of the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft contradicted Bill Gates statement by saying “Halo 3 is something that will ship when it is ready”

Bill Gates later took back his statement in an interview posted on Engadget, stating “It's up to the team [Bungie] when they want to ship [Halo 3], and they're going to take their time to make that a super great product, so even we don't know when that will come out". There is still however, much speculation over when one of the worlds most popular video games will be released. Many are still saying a November 2006 release date is in the works, others believe it will ship in correspondence with the Halo Movie in the summer of 2007 to increase hype and sales.

The Halo games are good, but I think they're incredibly overrated. Especially the 2nd one. Then it becomes all about who has dual weapons, and who's most skilled at jumping. I say increase the gravity, and go back to single weapons, and maybe they'll have a decent game again.

*ehem* I think that the Halo series is just so overrated. It just feels like a generic Sci-Fi shooter with good graphics (and if the 360 has taught us all anything, is that graphics a good game doesn't make).

oh, also, yes I would. i've played halo and halo 2 before, and i will admit the graphics are really nice, but that's the only thing that seperates it from any other FPS on earth. so next time speak for yourself.

With all do respect C and J.. I think you two are completely wrong. Yes, everyone does have their opinions about a certain game, but no, it certainly is not just a "generic FPS". The games story is great, and while the second game drops off in the story a bit and becomes a bit stupid, it still kept me interested and entertained. It's not overrated. And I do believe it has everything to do with being Pro-Sony, just like AA7 said. Rather than it being about the quality of the game as well.

While I do respect your opinions.. I am afraid that I cannot support them. The game has a unique story, and it's not something that's been done before, regardless of what you say. So I really would hate for you guys to think it's just a generic FPS.

I never intend for anything to turn into a flame war, so I hope nobody got offended by the comments I made, I just feel certain things should be brought up to defend a game that is really a good game. The Multiplayer is what sets Halo apart from everything, that is why Halo is so popular.
