Sony’s “Digital Future” was the main topic for CEO Sir Howard Stringer’s keynote speech at the CES 2006 show. Moving away from the Playstation 3 news and on to a much broader message on Sony’s future, some things were mentioned may interest millions of gamers with their “e-Entertainment”.
Sony has designed what they call “Locationfree”. This technology is an internet enabled video system enabling users to stream video to multiple PSP’s. A demonstration was given by Sir Howard Stringer, showing a live TV broadcast from the Eastern coast which was being played on a PSP in a Wi-Fi Hot Spot
Kaz Hirai, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) took the stage moments after Sir Howard Stinger finished up, and proceeded to dangle toe PS3 carrot in front of visitors once again. Kaz Hirai again confirmed the release date in 2006 and stated the PS3 is “a key pillar of Sony growth in 2006” After his speech, trailers for Forumla 1, Vision, GRan Turismo, Lair, Motorstorm and Warhawl were shown in a multimedia show. If you paid any attention to the 205 E3 conference in may, you would know these were the same trailers shown there.
