Hey guys, the name's Dan. Instead of making 2 different posts, 1 to say I'm new and another to ask a question regarding PS3 mods, I figure I'd just throw em together here. So hey (:

Anyways, this question regards the Playstation 3 hard drive. After scouring the vast series of tubes, I've come across somewhat of a problem. I'm looking to purchase a 20 gig or 40 gig PS3 in the near future, drop a new hard drive into it, toss Yellow Dog Linux on it, and use it as a personal PC for home and college. The only problem I've run into so far is the fact that every tutorial I've found regarding Hard Drive replacement directs me to a Toshiba Laptop drive (Linked HERE (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149057)). The problem with that is the fact that Newegg no longer carries that drive. But after some searching I found a Western Digital drive with identical specs (Click HERE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136072) to see that bad boy). So my question is that if I use the WD drive, would it still work? If not, could someone direct me to a drive that would? Any help would be much appreciated.
