Then you may have noticed that Southwestern Oklahoma and Northern Texas got blasted by a series of tornadoes last night. Well. I'm proud to say I was in the middle of it all... My town sits about 11 miles north of the Red River. We're in the lower southwest corner of Oklahoma and tonight as I was in Wal-Mart and My sister rushed home for reasons unknown to myself, I recieved a phone call from my father who's currently in Houston on job related business telling me to take shelter. Why? Three Tornado Warnings were issued around my town. One to the North, one to the west, and one to the south.

For those of you who aren't familiar with a tornado warning and/or tornado. It's a big ass funnel that drops from the clouds and creates a path of destruction. For those of you familiar with them, May 5th, 1999 reaked havoc on Oklahoma... Tornado Warnings mean a Tornado has been spotted meaning seek cover immediately. Turns out even though there was three tornado warnings around us and one in our town as well, only the north side of town, about 3 miles outside of the town, got hit.

Talk about an eventful night. And all I wanted to do was hang out with friends and eat with Helghast. Fortunately, everything went away and even though we had 70 MPH winds, we didn't have much more than that and a helluva lot of rain. If you ever have the chance to visit Oklahoma in the spring. Don't..

Oklahoma's weather is unpredictable and you shouldn't come here, at least the southwest corner, unless you wanna deal with it. Just thought I'd fill you all in.

Well Justinian, I wasn't necessarily Proud LoL. But when you live in Oklahoma, Southern Kansas, Northern Texas, places in the Torando Alley, you get used to Tornadoes coming around. It's not a pride thing as much as it is a happy thing that you survived another. The weather in Oklahoma is hell, especially around this time of year.

The thing I wrote was basically telling anyone not to come around Oklahoma during the summer unless you're prepared to face one of these damned things. LoL. No, but thanks, I know that a tornado that was close by here killed a few people in Northern Texas, luckily that tornado changed directions and missed us. I feel for the people who lose someone close to them in storms like these, they're so unpredictable that you just don't know what's going to happen.

by The way, Justinian, are you referring to a "Dust Devil"?

Also, it turns out that last night the storms weren't over. About 4:30 AM, a little over an hour after I posted this thread, we were hit by another series of storms. High Winds and a lot of hail. Luckily this one didn't have as strong as winds or produce much damage, though I believe it did in a city east of here. Last night was just one of those nights we couldn't get a break from the damn weather LoL.

I think the worst storm we had up here was the Blizzard of 78. I wasn't around for it, but people's homes were burried, children were traped in schools, and people froze to death while they were in their cars trying to drive in the blizzard.
