I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly uninstall Yellowdog from the Partition on my PS3 so I can put Ubuntu on it. I've had enough problems with yellowdogs resolution issues so I am gonna switch if possible.

Plus they got the xbox media center to work on Ubuntu for streaming media. I want to check that out. My friend is a freak about the xbox only because of the media center. He doesn't know too much so don't pick on him. I do enough already. He will buy a PS3 if you can put the XBMC on it. I'm going to show him that you can so I can turn him to the dark side.

But I can't without your help! I don't wanna delete all of my files from my PS3 nor do I wanna back them up. It's already partitioned. All I need to do is install ubuntu instead of yellowdog. Anybody?

Hey, sorry this thread hasn't been touched in a long time. Yeah PS3Court is in a bit of a "dead streak" at the moment, I'm going to look up on uninstalling YDL for Ubuntu, to see if I can answer this seeing as no one else can. Again, I'm sorry this thread hasn't been touched.

Ok, heres a quote I got from someone at the yellow dog linux forums
You wouldn't need to reformat from the Game OS ... I think you'd just follow the normal install procedure (and you'd format the Linux partition(s) during install).
I hope that helps.

Thanks a ton...I guess I'll give it a go. Do have an opinion on which one is better? I'm not really into it that much so I'm a complete noob on using other OS.
