there isnt any soft mods really or mod chips. If your system is firmware is 3.56, 3.60,3.61 you wont be able to jailbreak it or downgrade to jailbreak it :/

Step 1: Update to OFW 3.55

Make sure you updated to OFW 3.55. Check your firmware. If you already have OFW 3.55 Firmware, Skip this step.

Format your USB drive

Then download:

Sony Official 3_55 Firmware.RAR

Extract with WinRAR.

In your USB drive, Create "PS3" folder, then inside the "PS3" folder, make a "UPDATE" folder.

Copy: PS3UPDAT.PUP to the UPDATE folder.

Remove your USB drive.

Now on your PS3, press the power button and keep holding until it turns off again. Then turn on your PS3, hold it again until you here the beep twice.

Connect your controller using USB cable to the PS3.

Then press the PS button.

Scroll down to number 6. System Update.

Insert your USB drive then press the START and SELECT.

Wait while it checks. Then it should prepare the Update. After that finishes, your PS3 should restart.

After it boots up again press the PS button. Wait, Then accept the User Agreement. It should finishes about an hour. Then your PS3 will restart. Remove your USB drive.



Step 2: Install Wutangrza CFW.

Go back to your Computer.
