http://www.ps3court.com/images/network.jpgSony officials have confirmed the PS3 will have an online game service, even though earlier speculation indicated there was no plan for any online services.
"The new PS3 video game console will include such a service which will allow gamers to communicate, compete, and participate in live in-game tournaments."

Questionnaires have been handed out to console gamers asked questions related to online game console play. Some of the reported questions are surround weather they enjoy online game play and what type of features they would like to see the PS3 have

Its no surprise. If they didnt have an online gaming service, hat would be a big surpise. (a bad one)

There is going to be a feee attached, as to how much no one is really sure except Sony. I doubt it will be any more then $30 bucks a month. Anything higher then that and it will be out of the price range of most potential subscribers.

I'm really excited to hear about this. I've become quite the fan of online gaming. Now that this will be in place all the things I missed on the PS2 will be in place and more (I'm guessing), like dedicated servers, friend list, downloadable content, etc. A lot of people seem to be concerned about there being a fee, but I say that it'll be worth it. I just hope it stays around $15-20 a month.

Im glad they decided to get some kind of Live system going. If they hadent they would have lost the online world for sure.
