Well, seeing as though the PS3 hasnt been released yet, there are no mods for it! When it is finaly released we will be sure to keep you up to date with current mods.

All i got is a PS2. All my friends have Xbox's though so i play Xbox a lot too.

i know that xbox has better graphics than ps2 and more stuff but i dont like their games thats why have a ps2 and most of my friends have xbox

I dont think the PS3 is going to be an easy bax to mod. Aparently alot of any modding technology has gone into the console, including more sophisticated encryption then the Xbox 360 (4096 bit encryption). And if you look at the PS3's Blu-Ray disks, their going to be pretty difficult to copy at 50 GB. Even though burners are pretty much available to purchase on the market already, disks are rare and damn are they going to be expecive!!! (I've heard up to $60 per disk)

When someone does find a way to mod it, I wouldnt doubt it if the mods are difficult to do as it is, and who wants to spend a few hundres bucks on a console, only to mod it and hope it works.

Yea but we can get 50 GB on a Blu-ray disc that costs $60 rather than a 25 GB HD-DVD that costs $40 but you need two of them so it costs $80

You have a good point there. But wouldnt you rather just pay the $ 55 - 60 bucks to get the authentic disk with all the material that comes with it? personaly if it costs less, or even an extra 5 bucks, I'll get the authentic disk.

Like I said before, I'm doubtfull there will be any mods out for a while for the PS3. And seing as though there is going to be an online subscription service for the PS3, it probably wouldnt be a good idea to mod your console simply because Sony may go the way of Microsoft, and bann everyone from the online service who has a mod chip installed and so on. I dont think modding it it worth it at all.

Welcome to the forums temporal_zulu! I agree 100%. The PS3 is going to be able to stand up to anything without being modded for while to come.

You have a good point. Even PC technology isn't as far ahead as the PS3 now with its "Cell" processor and Blu-Ray player

I dont think I would want to mod my PS3. I would be too afraid I would screw it up and kill it. I would probally cry if I did.

Haha, I don't know. I think I'd try to mod it, but only if I was absolutely sure I knew what I was doing. I have a feeling that Sony is going to make the PS3 hard to mod (at least with a modchip); there's no doubt in my mind that they've had teams buy and examine every modchip out there, just so they can figure out how to stop that type of thing with the PS3. It's most likely they're going to do what Xbox did, and have it so that if you've modded your PS3, you're excluded from playing online.

I'm going to purchase a black Mod for my 360 so it would be pretty cool if I could get a matching black Mod case for the Ps3. It only fits, almost all the furniture in my room is a black wood or metal.. Matching only makes sense.

well, to get back on topic, i don't think there's going to be many different skins for the ps3. it's just such a wierd shape, that it wud be to hard to make skins. with the ps2, it was flat on all sides. now, it's all curved. discuss.

well, i doubt it. there would be no reason to realese it in different colors if they were just gunna cover then with a face-plate.

u'd probably could but you would have to be really cautious and tape or plug everytign up so u dont get any paint in unwanted areas

maybe the reason the PS3 got delayed is that it had overheating problems cuz of lack of ventilation. kinda like the ps1 lol.

i don't like the idea of a silver psp. i like black just fine.

I can't wait to mod the heck out of the ps3! I had alot of fun modding the ps2 except the ps3 looks to cool so I don't think i'll be giving it a new paint job like my ps2 had or cutting any windows. I may add a few leds to light it up assuming theres a spot that light can come out of the case.

If you don't mind me asking how do you know this? I haven't seen any pics indicating a light source coming out of the ps3... At anyrate i'll be modding if cool things can be done. :)

Ohh lol i'm talking about soldering LEDs to the ps3's main board inside to give off a bright glow coming for the inside of the case. Much like people add lights and stuff to the inside of a PC tower.

on the ps3 the lights inside the systme and goes throghu the systme on the blue button althoghu its not a button but a touch thing ma bobber

Naw not the type i'm talking about. The Leds I soldered in my ps2 were bright blue and the light would shine out of the bottom vent... The eject botton is an led, but not as bright as the one i'd solder to the main board.
