Has there been an official realese date yet? I've heard several rumors it was coming out in September, but I haven't heard an official date.

Herm.. One of the Magazines I bought said something about a November release.. then again I can't really confirm it. You know the magazines all go off of uncertainties sometimes.

I don't know why, but I'm remembering something I read saying that the Wii will launch sometime around when the PS3 does.. but I might just be brain farting. I'll go do some homework on it.. I have a copy of this month's EGM on hand.

no nintendo is keeping very tight lips about the release date. definately Q4 2006, speculation ranges from november 12 al the way back to an october 2 release date, but my bets are on a mid-october/early november release date. Nov 6 is looking likely.

I frikkin hate Sony and Nintendo i mean America and Japan get it first and then we have to sit here with our 360's waiting for the ps3 and wii to come.

That does suck man. You would think these big companies would be able to produce different versions of consoles to coincide with the other launch dates. But I really don't know how it works, so I guess I can't criticize them fully. Luckily I live in the US...

What I can't understand is why the Nintendo Wii is coming out in US (Nov. 19) first then JP (Dec.2). Isn't it made in JP?...Or is it just that US and JP have a very big time difference?

Well, it could be that Japanese Publishers are starting to attack American markets more vigorously...it was unheard of that Metal Gear Solid 3 came out in America before it came out in Japan!!!

I think Nintendo has started to release things in America before Japan, to attract more attention to a "fading" franchise here in the States. I know the DS was released in America before Japan, but I don't know the real reason. Perhaps Nintendo is trying to show America it cares about its customers and that it's still around. If you think about it, it's kind of a big deal. A Japanese company is releasing their new system in a foreign country. Maybe they are really trying to grab America's attention. Just my two cents...if it makes any sense at all.

Haha, I'm glad you get my point. You are correct too in saying that Nintendo knows their home-grown system will sell regardless of when it releases. Nintendo is probably thinking that Americans will be more attracted to their stuff since it being release before Japan. "Wow, if Nintendo is releasing this here before Japan, this must be a huge system" is what they might be thinking. Nintendo still rocks though, so I wouldn't care if Japan got it first, but heck yeah that it comes out earlier, lol. I wanna play the Wii already!

well it also seems like the biggest battle will be in america, not in japan. microsoft is dead in japan, ps3 is not as popular in japan for a while (price, size), so the major battle is state side between 360 ps3 and wii. i think it makes sense, anyway its about time we got something before japan.

Wii is the new Nintendo system coming out 2 days after the PS3 release. It used to be called the Revolution, maybe that's why you are confused. But it's gonna be awesome, so get it.

yea basically its a less powerful system with a wand like controller that tracks movement in real time. look it up its gonna be pretty cool. and its only 250 dollars so theres more incentive.

Don't be hating on the Wii! The Wii owns, dude! It's called innovation. I think it's pretty badass that you'll be able to swing Link's sword in real-time in stuff. Revolution is better though, I'll give you that.

They not forcing you to get up. You can sit down and move your wii remote with no problems. The worst thing that happens is that your right is ripped while the rest of your body is skinny as hell, lol.
