I am working on a ps3 consule mod NOT ps3 controller mod
I will post my work case everytime i can. :)
I would love feedback from people about my mod.
I do not see alot of ps3 owners doing much to there case :/
which is sad to see. since the ps3 has good architecture, Lovely curves
and a slick top.

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you around. Console mods are far and few in between, probably because of the time and effort thats required. I cant wait to see your finnished product!

i was going to cut out a design on the top of my playstation 3
but the last time i tried to cut a design in a piece of plastic
it had rugh edges so i didn`t attempt anything wi the ps3.
i wish i had a laser cutter that could cut plastic.

Hi sneakpeak459,
My ps3 mod is still going on, i have had to stop for the holiday season because of extra work due to more costumer and client demands.
If you have sharp and rough edge on the cutouts a simple sandpaper of mini hobbie file will smooth out the edges to give you a very clean look. Its more work then lazor cutting the part. Lazor cutting i would say i recommand unless your on a budget and or you can not find one closes to you. Which is my issue which is why i am doing the extra work to smooth out the edges with a round file (rat tail) flat file and a triangle file
I have posted a video of what i have done so far with the issue that i had with the mod chip. It is on my thread under "PS3 MOD"

the wavey bumps usually happens when you dont cut in a straight line. I always give myself about 1/8 of an inch of space when cutting, so if i over cut or have that issue i can file it striaght flush. Itd always a great idea to remeber to give your self 1/8 of expension space for this issue.
and thanks lol its a amuter video shot. And i will

Hmm, well not really. But if you youtube: window cutting, Window mod, Plastic cutting. You might be able to find something with video how to. Alot of mods are being done on xbox360 and classic PC mods. So take some pointer on what they use, and how they cut.
One thing you should make a mental note. Safety first So wear ABS safety glasses, gloves and if need be resporator or chemical safety mask. Alot of metal and plastic throws out very harmful fumes that can be hazardous to your lungs and brain. So always have safety on
