I don't know about that.. Me, personally, I'd feel like a crook. But in any case I say wait.

I'm on the more observant side of things now. I was going to be in that first wave and pre-order, but the games that they're launching with don't really interest me all that much so I'm going to wait probably into the year of 07 to get one.

That'd probably be the more reasonable thing to do.. of course unless you're really hyped about the titles they're launching with.

That's actually pretty hard to say.. The stores don't really work how we expect them to. I, for one, can vouch for that. They've switched things up on me countless times.

I'll share the little information I -have- heard though. EB Games had been telling me that they were going to start pre-orders; however, they'd only have like 4 slots for them. I thought that was a little wild, but being as though there are a million other places in the world, it made sense.

thats a good idea...i mean its not illegal or anything its smart...u buy a brand new ps3 (getting one is hard enough)...keep it in its package...and then auction the sucker...its capitalism at its finest...as demand goes up...so does price...

well its an easy, fast and legal way to make 2,500 dollars. i mean if theres someone out there stupid enough to pay 3000 bucks for a ps3, ill gladly sell it to them. anyway, ill wate for the second generation of them, that way they will have fixed any flaws.

When I bought a 360, I was on the waiting list before launch, 2nd wave. I looked out of curiosity on Ebay and I **** you not the price for a 360 on ebay was going at 1200 for a $499 premium console!!!!:eek: I may just have to mke an investment and buy a couple of PS3s at launch and jack up the price on ebay.

back to the original question to buy a launch console vs. a 2 wave launch console. Being a 2nd wave 360 owner, and frequenting many 360 sites, I hear horror stories of launch consoles failing and shutting down, so perhaps as someone mentioned above i think getting a 2nd waave console may be in your best intrest, I know I'm debating it, especially when investing so much money in console.

Perhaps tho, maybe you can buy a launch console at some place that offers a extended warranty, one that offer replacement if ANYTHING goes wrong.

I'm definitely going to sell mine on Ebay, unless I win the one being giving away here. It's high unlikely but yeah. I think you should wait.

we are on topic buy a first gen one if you can (very unlikely any of us will actually get one) and sell it, then wait for the second gen to keep. by then they should have worked out any bugs.

when dose 2nd gen come out-is there a thread for release dates?

cause if its a couple months then you can put in bank and you will have like $50 by the time second gen comes out not much but for a person with no income untill 08 you would jump at the idea too:D

I always wait. Yes there are often bugs, but also because I want to make sure that there are still some half-decent games and I don't waste $600 on an expensive doorstopper. Hopefully, though, if it is as good as I hope and believe, there will be some by February.

I think its a bit late for anyone to pre order now. If you havent done it already, their all gone. Good luck on it though

I personally going to wait, cuz first off id never be able to get one and seconldy cuz launch systems always have bugs.

Exactly, even after the bugs are cleared out I'm still going to be waiting for a while because there is no way I'll be able to afford 1 anytime soon.

That is true, it will suck. But I can live with my PS2 and XBOX until I can afford it, which will probably be more than 3 months.

yea but the games i REALLY want to play dont come out for a while. i guess i dont like the ps3 release line up, thats just me though.

Same here, i think motorstorm looks ok but apart from that there isnt really too much that makes me want to drop that much money on a PS3 at launch.

MGS 4, Resistance, and Heavenly Sword are the most appealing to me. Mostly just because I like FPS's, MGS, and God of War (which Heavenly Sword is basically a rip off . . . I mean homate to God of War)

the only launch game that I know for a fact I would like is Smackdown vs Raw 2007 but I can just get that for my PS2 for a cheaper price. I don't really even know what other games are launching but the onesd I've heard of dont really seem to appeal to me. Is there supposed to be a sonic game at launch?
