Well with all the "fakes" and articles...no one except for Sony is really sure what will happen with the PS3. So what are your estimates..

My prediction is that it will be launched in May for $399-$499. Even though there have been plenty of "predictions" on the PS3's price, I think sone will be like Microsoft and take a bit of a loss on the console in order to get it out there. once the price of materials comes down, the price will drop a bit more as well. Sony will still make a fortune off its console.

I agree with you on most of that, but personaly I think the PlayStation 3 is going to be more along the lines of $599. There has beena lot of hype of this new console, more so then the Xbox 360.

If you think back to when consoles were first introduced to the market (The Atari, NES and so on) they were retailing for arounf $275 - $350. Back then that was the equivilant of $650 - $700. Thats more then any console retails for today. The PS3 is not going to be an exception to this. Sure technology has come down in price, but the PS3 does cost alot to produce and Sont will pass the buck on to consumers - at a loss or not.

it will prolly be a little more than the 360

I think it will be just over the cost of the xbox 360. The technology is newer, has alot more potential, and in the first few months, it will be as expencive as hell. But hey, what can you do? Pay it and take it.

Hey, it might be DOUBLE the 360, i hope not but its really possible it could be in the 600-700 range.

well since i know the price ill move this to ps3s success. i think that the ps3 will completely tank. its just too expensive for the average gamer. its not always about the graphics i think its more about the games and how fun they are. you can make a fun game with 16 bit graphics. i still go back and play the snes games. i think sony got the wrong idea. but time will tell.
