View Full Version : Why 360?
psplaya 02-26-2006, 09:57 PM Recently I've been getting annoyed at people contacting me complaining about the fact that I seem to hate the 360. First off, this is not true. I merely dislike it.
Anyway, the question I want to press to these people (you know who you are) is, why should I get a 360 over a PS3? So far, I've heard nothing about 360 but overheating issues, crashes and disc scratches.
top_dawg 02-26-2006, 09:59 PM Whoa, hold on please, mine overheated too, and lets just assume its not a low number of 360's doing this, (which it is low) guess what, it makes no difference. To my knowlage, only the first shipments had some problems, but from a personal view heres what happens if you win the unlucky lottery.
1. pick up the phone dial 1-800-4MY-XBOX
2.give the rep your information including serial number etc.
3. next day UPS will be at your door with a postage paid box have your xbox ready,, and pack it in with power supply swap stickers to return box.
4. wait 2-3 business days and you will have a brand new xbox.
I have even seen people send cores in, and get primiums back.
how ever good, or bad the chances are of you getting a bad console are, is pointless. If there is a defect you have 3 months for it to show up. If it has not by then it will likly not be a defect. I wonder how many companies do like what was done with 360. I had to provide no receipt, no box, only the console and power supply.
New console is placed under a new 90 day warentee, and it will not take over 8 business days.
Big risk here folks.
reticulator 03-08-2006, 10:59 AM the first shipments have problems with that. just get the warranty at eb
ps2freak 03-08-2006, 09:35 PM I dont think there have been many problems at all in the past few months wit the X-Box 360 at all. I dont really follow it but I did hear about the problems it had when it was first released.
reticulator 03-11-2006, 10:56 AM There havent been many problems with the 360 because they fixed the problems in the first shipments. They learned what was wrong and fixed it for subsequent shipments.
I got my 360 for Christmas and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I have had no problems whatsoever and I am enjoying my next gen fantasticness. Microsoft recently released the figures of how many 360's were defective and it was less than 1% of all of the first shipment. That is prety good. And I have not heard of one person who had a problem that was not solved within 9 or 10 days.
reticulator 03-13-2006, 08:52 AM OFr me, I think the 360 itself is good, and I wouldv'e gotten it except that I pre -ordered a little too late and EB rarely gets any 360s. I just don't like the games for the 360 that have come out so far and I think the ps3 will be far superior to the 360.
curlfro 03-23-2006, 07:05 PM you're not alone, i really dis-like the 360. it's just not next-gen. the graphics are there (some times) but the gameplay is still on current gen levels.
waitingforthosegraphics 03-24-2006, 11:13 AM Don't forget xbox live! It's awesome, excpecially gold.

Have you ever played a 360? The gameplay is amazing, the graphics are amazing and the online is fantastic. If you can play Oblivion and say that it is not next gen gameplay then you are going to be wating for a few more generations before you get what you are looking for.
Justinian 03-26-2006, 11:39 AM i'm going ot have to agree with curlfro. I played Call of Duty: Big Red One and King Kong at my friends house with his Xbox 360 and i didn't find them that fun. That graphics were pretty good in some palces but still not that great. thats just my opinion. But some may agree that i jsut didn't get a cahnce to paly the 360's full potiental so mabe i'm wrong
b3rat3 03-26-2006, 09:05 PM BTW, Justinian, I dont' recall Big Red One being a 360 based game. As far as it goes, I think the only people here who have anything against the 360 is because they're hardcore Sony fans and don't want to see another system prevail, regardless of the specs. Let's face it, we live in a world where competition is made out of every little thing. There's no changing that, I used to be like that. I was pro-Microsoft, but come Ps3 Launch Time, if I have the money, I'm going to get it. I don't see why I can't give both systems a try.
