So you’ve got a PS3, and some how you have managed to fill up the hard drive with everything from Demo’s, music, videos and images and your wishing you bought that 80 GB version.
While speaking with a PS3 Court Member tonight I thought to myself the upgrade is simple, and came across a post on Sony’s PlayStation blog from Free Rubenstein, a Social Media Manager with Sony. Oddly enough it seemed as though he was encouraging PS3 owners to upgrade their drives. In doing so he even managed to take a cheap shot at the competing Xbox 360.
As you all know Microsoft has been banning Xbox Live subscribers like an extermination service for modding their console, Jeff stated “Fortunately, the PS3 doesn’t require some hard-to-find proprietary HDD - you can swap it out yourself with the kind of drive found at most electronics retailers and on the internet.”
Stopping short of giving instruction on the process, he was kind enough to drop a link to CNET Asia’s website with detailed instructions on the process.
